Hi, I’m Caitlynn Bohman

I am a licensed acupuncturist in Gresham, Oregon. I received my Doctorate Degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in Portland, OR in 2022. I also have my Undergraduate Degree in Nutrition sciences from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR. Additionally, I am a 200-hour level certified yoga instructor and have taught classes in Gresham and Portland.

I came to Chinese Medicine through my own healing journey with managing my endometriosis symptoms. In my early 20’s, I was diagnosed with endometriosis after a decade of painful, irregular, and heavy periods. After receiving my first laparoscopic surgery that year, my doctor suggested I go on a hormonal birth control to suppress the symptoms. Previously, I had been on hormonal birth control from the age 14 to 21, and during that time I had weekly migraines. I did not want to experience those again! Therefore, I desired to do something different. It was through this exploration that I found my acupuncturist. Over the course of a year, she helped me get my periods regular and decreased my pain to almost nothing! I had always had an interest in healthcare, and within a year, I was signing up to attend OCOM.

I grew up in the Portland-metro area. I enjoy spending time outside being active, as well as renovating the house with my husband. My hobbies include knitting sweaters, cooking, reading, playing video games with my husband, hiking, and weightlifting.

I believe in working as a team with my patient to help them feel their best by nudging their body back into balance. Because of this team mentality, I expect all of my patients to play an active role in their healing. While Chinese Medicine is quite incredible and potent, it often requires patients to participate in their health care in addition to receiving acupuncture.
