Tuina
Tuina (pronounced tway-nah) is a branch of Chinese Medicine therapy that utilizes various techniques and stretches to help relax the muscles and bring the body back into alignment. It is one of the four main branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine, along with acupuncture, qi gong, and herbal medicine.
The various massage techniques are applied at acupuncture points and along acupuncture channels. It is believed that by stimulating these points and channels, we can help improve the flow of Qi throughout the body.
Tuina is able to treat a wide range of health conditions, including:
pain
muscle spasms
headaches
digestive complaints
menstrual cramps
insomnia
anxiety
depression
stress
For maximum effect, Tuina is commonly used in conjunction with fire cupping, gua-sha, moxibustion, and acupuncture.
